Light Papers Turns Anything into Light

Yes, you read it right this beautiful invention can turn anything luminous from your pen to your room's walls. Rohinni an Idaho based startup has developed a light paper which has really thickness of a paper and glows like an LED. It can be applied to any surface of any shape.

READ: Samsung To launch MacBook Air"s Compitetor.

"With Lightpaper it's more of a platform of light that we don't even know how it's going to be used," explains Nick Smoot CMO Rohinni. "All we know is that we're trying to unlock the ability to create light."

It is manufactured by mixing ink and tiny LEDs together and printing them out on a conductive layer. This object is packed between two other layers and sealed. These tiny LEDs are about the size of red blood cell!! and are randomly dispersed on the material and the current flows it lights up.

The thin LEDs are the technology developed from the OLED technology but nothing such has came into the market, Lightpaper is much thinner than the OLEDs and has life span of 20 years same as of LEDs.

The company isn't interested in TV market but company is  seeing this technology to be applied on a bigger canvas i.e. for making cars head lights, lightning for houses for illuminating logos may of your smartphone, laptops or of your car. The company is working on other implementations of the lightpaper but Smoot didn't tell any to the interviewer

Read: Breathable air on Mars.

"The design process is something that can be done almost in an afternoon," Smoot says. "We've had people engage with us before, and before the day is out, we have designs that can go to market, which is a pretty weird thought."

For consumers the Lightpaper will be availble in the mid 2015 .But Rohinni won't be aiming at the home hobbyist market until after it takes hold in the commercial and industrial space. There some problems though related to this beautiful technology that is related to every tech in today's world like it has shimmering or starry night effect.

"The magical thing about this solution is it's brighter, it's thinner, it's flexible, it's addressable, and programmable. You can address the sections of the diodes, which is a whole other space when you start thinking about solutions of light that you can address sections of."

Samsung to Launch Mac Book Air's Competitor at CES 2015

Mac book Air the most loved ultrabook of the times but, Samsung the South Korean Giant is planing to give competition to Apple in the Ultrabook's department also.

Samsung is launching it's new Series 9 2015 Edition which will be shown at CES 2015 i.e. 6th of Jan. According to Samsung the new ultrabook will run 12 hours on full charge and or all obvious reasons the Ultrabook will be very much slimmer and lighter or I would say even thinner and lighter than Apple's MacBook Air.

Samsung's Series 9 2015 will be 0.5 inch in thickness which is less than 0.68 inch Air and weighs 2.11 pounds versus 11-inches 2.38 pound. The Series 9 will have same battery management technique that is used to take maximum performance in Galaxy S5

Talking about the display it will have 12.2 inches 2560x1600 display, which we can see is much crispier than MacBook Pro's 13-inches 1440x900 display.

But major drawback of this Ultrabook will be that it will be much less powerful than Apple's MacBook Air. Series 9 will be running on Intel's Broadwell Core M processors which are meant to be used in 2-in-1 laptops and tablets rather than full fledged laptops whereas The MacBook Air runs on Intel's Core i5 and Core i7 processors on which desktop computer runs. Also the edge of Samsung's notebook where the ports are sort of bulge out, however, which makes it look a bit bulky. The MacBook Air's teardrop design is much more elegant.

Comment below your thoughts about the Series 9 vs Air.

Breathable air on Mars: The New Space Race

Interstellar the movie released this year had shown man a vision of leaving the planet Earth and to prosper on some other planet of this universe. It seems that about in a decade or a two man will be able to breathe on the Red Planet, As the New Space Race has begun which are famous from the times of The Cold War.

NASA hopes to send manned mission on to the fourth planet of our solar system but, not until the mid 2030s. Also the SpaceX and Mars One are talking about the making the trip under 10 years from now. So, whenever it is going to land there some new innovations are about to come.

Students from University of Western Australia and Mars One Astronaut candidate Josh Richards are finalist in the Mars One University competition, which will send some key experiments to Mars in 2018.

The "Helena Payload Project", by the team hopes to extract water from the surface of Mars and using electrolysis to produce breathable air.

The Australian team will have to compete with the Cyano Knights, who hopes to show that oxygen on Mars can be made by it's 95% carbon dioxide atmosphere. "Our experiment will hopefully pave the way to ensure the survival of the elected astronauts on the Red Planet, as we attempt to produce oxygen from Martian resources," said UWA engineering student and Helena co-lead, Andre Van Vulpen.

Two students concepts join the MIT's Mars OXygen In situ resource utilization Experiments (MOXIE), which was selected this year for inclusion on board. MOXIE is similar to Helena Project, by using solid oxide electrolysis to peel oxygen off of carbon dioxide splitting into Oxygen and Carbon monoxide.

Naturally, the stakes are a little higher for the Mars One teams, who are looking to test technologies that could generate molecules to be inhaled by real humans in the next 10-12 years, whereas MOXIE will just be conducting experiments aboard a robot.

Self Driving Car: Google

Everyday new technologies are coming to change our lives, technology is creating the world which we all used to think, about which we used to have fantasy when we were kids. Google is such a tech giant which is helping in shaping this world. Recently Google made another breakthrough in technology by showing it's Self Driving Car.

It was first seen in May being tested by the Google and now Google Made it's first prototype and says it will be on roads by Jan 2015, Well I am very much excited about this new tech breakthrough.

Read: Enjoy Playstation games without even having Playstation at your place:Samsung.

The goofy-looking car has with no steering wheel or pedals that Google revealed in May is now "fully functional" and should start testing on public roads next month, the tech giant says. Over the past seven months, Google has made a series of prototypes, testing different aspects of the design, steering and braking to the sensors and software that brings it all together. The result, it says, is "our first complete prototype for fully autonomous driving." Google has a vision of only Driverless cars running over the roads at the end of this decade.

Fastest Home Internet ever (10 Gbps) rolls in US city

After a while Google launched it's 1 Gbps fiber internet connection, the residents of Minneapolis got gift of World's fastest home Internet this holiday season. US internet, based in the Minneapolis suburb of Minnetonka, announced that it has begun rolling out the 10 Gbps internet connection to some houses of Minneapolis. This internet is 10 times faster than the Google's 1 Gbps.

This Internet connection is also much faster than the typical speeds in South Korea known for having world's fastest internet. Compared to rest of the US, this new connection is 30 times much faster to the average household connections.

The fiber optic service will cost around $399 per month and the company claims that it will deliver matching upload and download speeds. While only available to a limited number of homes in the southwestern part of the city this winter, US Internet plans to expand its service area in the summer of 2015.

10 Tech resolutions for this New Year.

5. Don't Drive Distracted (3D's)

If you live in the United States then in 2015, 44 states will ticket you even for texting while driving and 14 will bust you just for holding your phone in our hand. In 2012, 421,000 people were injured in distracted driving accidents, and you may not care if you are one of them, but you have an obligation towards everyone you share the road with.

6. Take your TV out of Bedroom

Watching a TV serial at 10 p.m. or later is the worst thing we can do, not for next mornings classes or meetings, but for your health. According to American Academy of Sleep Medicine, late night shows contribute to chronic sleep debt. Getting fewer than seven hours of sleep is associated with increased obesity, morbidity and mortality, and for as many as 40% of Americans, this is their reality.

And don't even think of putting TV in your kid's room. Researches shows that placing tv in your kid's room will cause your kid to gain weight even beyond screen time. So, keep it in Living Room.

7. Use a Password Manager

Everyone wants to make their login information easy to remember and secure. So, this New Year replace your password from Myself123! to a new secure password. Some apps like 1password and LastPass will do the remembering work. So, next time you have to login just check out there.

8. Backup 3 three different ways

We all backup our computer regularly, fastest and easiest way to do this is backing up locally on your external HDD. On Windows 8 daily backup can be done easily by enabling File History and for Mac it's feature called Time Machine.

Store your very important documents and file in cloud, as if ever your external drive gets torched, you'd be in your luck.

But the third way to backup is called off-site backups. Because if there’s something worse than a fire — like an earthquake — and your external drive is toast and everyone’s Internet connection is down, you’ll still need your files. So, once a month, make a copy of your external drive, and bring it over to your mother’s house to store it safely.

9. Mind your Ps and Qs (posts and qoutes)

In 1864, the Great Emancipator Abraham Lincoln famously said, “The problem with Internet quotes is that you cant always depend on their accuracy.” Okay, you got me — he didn’t say that. But chances are you’ve posted equally bogus information on Facebook, like that Facebook Copyright post (not real), and some of the Ebola “news” stories that were floating around.

This year, resolve to stop spreading misinformation online — with more than half of Facebook and Twitter users getting news from the sites, it’s just an irresponsible thing to do. Lifehacker has an excellent step-by-step on how to determine if what you’re sharing is true. So, research before you repost.

10. Make your Posts Pertinent

First, going through your Facebook friends and categorize people into various groups, like co-workers, high-school friends, baseball fans, whatever. You can then make pertinent posts only to the people who would be most interested in reading them. For instance, if there’s a fundraiser at your local church, post that to friends in your town, not to everyone on your list. And there’s another good reason for doing this — your second cousin who lives three states away has probably already blocked you because of all those fundraiser reminders you posted last year.

Comment Below what you think and what modifications can be done to these existing New Year Resolutions and what else can be added.

To remain updated about techs and their specs,

10 Tech resolutions for this New Year.

This time let's do it in a different way, every year we make resolutions and most of us do not follow them even for a week. This year I found 10 New Year tech resolutions over the net to make as many of them make us antisocial, here we go>

1. No Smartphone while eating.

First and the most important we all have very bad habit of using smartphone while having meal. This habit is annoying most of the time for our parents and pals. This thing I also found the most annoying one. No one wants to see photos of every meal you eat, on Instagram. But more importantly, in a time where we all feel stretched thin and barely have a moment to ourselves, setting the phone down at mealtimes assures that you have at least a few minutes to collect your thoughts.

2. Turn off push Notifications.

In today's world there is no teenager who's smartphone does not give him/her an alert. This new year make a resolution to turn off all the third party apps and you will find your life much peaceful and if you miss any of the update the app will automatically prompt you to update it.

3. Turn on Find My iPhone

As easy as it sounds, just taps, swipes entering a password and it's done. Also this smartphone-saving tool not uses your memory at the back ground. So, whenever you loose your iPhone whether it is under your couch or cushion, it will be easy to find.

 4. Go paperless

So many trees fall every year to make paper. So this New year go Paperless with the help of your smartphone. De-ink your life by using some apps from the respective app stores some the excellent apps are Scanbot for Android and Wave Receipts on iOS. These can be used to scan and categorize your pay slips.

                                 Next resolutions. >>>

Turn your Eyewear to a Smart Eyewear: Sony

New techs coming day by day, after humans phones became smart, our wrist watch became smart, even our houses are about to become smart also not forget about the Smart Eyewears. Talking about the smart eyewear Google launches it's Google Glasses in early 2013. It did not came out to be a huge success as they were costly and many modifications are still to be made.

Sony has made an introduction to an concept of attachable smart eyewear system, means we can turn our existing goggles, glasses or specs into a smart eyewear. Interesting right?

Read: Printer in Your Pocket.

Sony dubs a Single-Lens Display module, may look a bit bulky but has some awesome tech packed inside. The attachable system has Control board, processor and bluetooth on right side of the wearer, which further is connected to an OLED microdisplay that beams a picture on wearers glasses via an optical unit.

"By simply attaching it to a pair of fashionable glasses, goggles, sunglasses, or other type of eyewear", Sony writes in a blog post, "you can instantly gain access to visual information that adds a level of convenience to your everyday life".

The OLED microdisplay is about 0.23 inches and according to the Japanese giant it can achieve a resolution of 640x400 pixels. It says that outdoor sports such as cycling, golf, tennis and many other can get benefit from the awesome gadget. Additionally, pairing the heads-up display with a smartphone camera will let you remotely monitor viewing angles, or -- we imagine -- peek around corners or over walls.

Samsung's Smart TVs to Play Playstation Games without Using Playstation Console.

2015 will be a bang, loads of new tech coming out, I am really excited about the advent of this New Year. I recently heard that Samsung's Smart TVs in The United States and Canada will run Playstation games without using or installing the Playstation console. The company has said that the service will be accessible in the first half of next year.

The service is called Playstation now. You will need a Sony Dual Shock Controller and once it is plugged into the Smart TV the user will just have to fire an app and play the games.

Read: Some Tech we all missed to watch out for in 2014

The interesting part is that there is no need of downloading any content so need to wait just plug it on and play over 200 PS3 games on your Smart TV. Moreover, you can play online with their friends and save their progress in the cloud ready to pick up next time where the you left. So, all you need is a good good internet connection so that game can run smoothly and may not have lag issues

However the South Korean giant has not given exact dates that when the service will be available in these two countries and any plans to further implement this idea in other countries.

Samsung CEO Confirms "Folding Displays" in 2015

Few days ago I updated LG's CES 2015 show of Quantum Dots 4K display and 55 inches 8K Displays.  But, Samsung here is one step ahead, The South Korean giant spilled about it's new upcoming technologies. One of which is Folding Displays. Samsung Electronics CEO, Kwon Oh Hyun announced his plans about this mesmerizing technology i.e. Folding Displays which could revolutionize our tablets, smartphones and wearable technologies.

Interestingly, Kwon also acknowledged room for improvement in the company's first wearable tech device, the Galaxy Gear, and also revealed that the company is not 100 percent satisfied by the product.

Further, JK Shin, president and CEO of IT & mobile communications claimed that Samsung's tablet sales would exceed 40 million units in 2013, which is more than double the sales of Samsung tablets in 2012. Samsung has also promised investors new technology to take on Apple, and renewing its focus on tablets.

Not long ago, Samsung revealed it's first smartphone with a curve display, "Galaxy round" which is a variant of Galaxy Note 3.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 ( Right ) and Galaxy Round ( Left )

The Samsung Galaxy Round has a 5.7 inches display has a horizontal curve and weighs less than Galaxy Note 3. This thing according to the company makes a better grip of the smartphone. According to Samsung the Galaxy Round will only be available in South Korea.

Graphene Revolution: Harvest energy from "Air" !!!

I think this much description is enough for everybody to think about the versatility of Graphene.

Latest research have found that graphene is attractive for possible uses in proton-conducting membranes which are core of the fuel cells. Now what is fuel cell? -- Fuel cells are source of power mostly used in space technology, it works by using oxygen and hydrogen as a fuel and converting chemical energy in them to electrical energy. However, the current membranes that separate the proton necessary for this process are inefficient, allowing contamination of fuel crossover. Therefore by using graphene in them could increase their efficiency to much extent.

The most interesting part is that in research it has been found that membranes could be used to extract hydrogen directly from atmosphere and such harvesting could be combined with the fuel cells to create a mobile electric generator fueled simply by Hydrogen present in air

Just think of it, if these membranes could be installed successfully in our gadgets we daily use can just revolutionize our gadgets. No need of batteries our phones will just become thin and wearable tech will be much more impressive and light weight. No need of even charging them!

"We worked with small membranes, and the achieved flow of hydrogen is of course tiny so far. But this is the initial stage of discovery, and the paper is to make experts aware of the existing prospects. To build up and test hydrogen harvesters will require much further effort." said the researchers.

I think this could just revolutionize our world and may even some day big energy projects may be running on this discovery, we never know......

Read: Create your Own smartphone: Google's Project Ara

Despite of all this graphene has other very mind blowing merits like, if used in solar cells, it can increase their efficiency by 60%. Unlike silicon Graphene can produce multiple electrons for every current driven electron from each proton.

Apart from uses in transportation, where its lightness and strength stands to transform the manufacture of cars and planes to make them more fuel efficient, graphene has been studied as a corrosion-proof coating for packaging. In industry, its use as a membrane is being studied as a means of purifying water and even as a way of extracting salt and other elements from sea water to make it drinkable.

So we can see that how marvellous is this material Graphene is. It will be an important area of research and investment in the upcoming years.

Comment below your thoughts about this amazing discovery which has been made.

Graphene Revolution: Harvest energy from "Air" !!!

With world becoming bigger and better everyday, advancing technologies, daily new discoveries in the field of science has given us many stunned movements in our lives, from bicycles to 3-D printers science and technology advance and help human making the the world a better and a magical place to live with.

With increasing the technology and advancement in science scientist and engineers are finding the solution to world "energy crisis". This decade many alternatives have been invented, But today I found something magical on the net: " Energy harvesting from air" this thing certainly gained my attention and I thought to share with my viewers.

I have mentioned Graphene in the title of blog. So, what actually is graphene?
Graphene is a material which is 2 dimensional and just one atom thick, being 200 times more stronger than steel and conductivity much better than the copper. Graphene has same material of which is our household pencil. It was isolated in 2004 at the Manchester University headed by Andrew Geim and Kostya Novoselov. Both of these got Nobel Prize in Physics in 2010 for the discovery of the same.

This material has potential to revolutionize the way we think about the science, technology and gadgets. This material being transparent flexible and a very good conductor of electricity can change all electrical and electronic things around us, from electrical connection to smartphones and wearable technology.

Illusion Coatings Makes things look which they are not!!!

We all had a fantasy of invisible cloaks from the time we were kids or some of us might be of teen age. Invisibility cloaks were once thought of only as " Star Trek" sci-fi or "Harry Potter" Fantasy. Also invisibility cloaks devices work against the other kinds of waves.

But here, I am not exactly talking about the invisibility cloaks but rather of " Illusion Coatings", a fiber recently made by researchers. They say invisibility cloaks to conceal objects from detection, "illusion coatings" could hide things by making them look like something else. These illusion coatings will help spies and soldiers to hide antennas and sensors from remote inspection and allow the device to sense the outside world.

So, we can see the problem with invisibility cloaks that, it does not allow antennas or sensors to communicate with outside world.

The investigators started with thin sheets of a composite material composed of glass fibers and Teflon. These were covered with patterns of copper stripes that interacted with the composite material to scatter radio waves in a very precise way. The stripes are only 35 microns deep and about 300 to 500 microns wide. (For comparison, the average width of a human hair is 100 microns.)

Illusion coatings may also help protect any type of equipment from stray or intentional electromagnetic interference. For instance, they could help enable multiple-antenna arrays, "where each antenna will not be affected by the presence of the other antennas, even when they are placed in very close proximity to each other," said co-author Douglas Werner, an electrical engineer at Pennsylvania State University.

While these illusion coatings currently only work for radio frequencies, the researchers are exploring ones that work against infrared and visible wavelengths of light, Werner said.

Some Technology we all might have "Missed" to watch in 2014

Every year there is a new dawn in the field of science and technology. This year i.e. 2014 was a magnificent year for the technology to grow. As this the end of year here I bring you the list of very good technologies which you and all of us might have not seen in this year.

1. Smart Contact Lenses:

Google is now also known for it's research in the field of technology. The lenses above are designed by Google X, known for developing Google Glasses. These lenses can record the glucose level of a diabetic patient. These were developed by Google in January.

"As you can imagine, tears are hard to collect and study," the Google engineers said. "At Google X, we wondered if miniaturized electronics - think: chips and sensors so small they look like bits of glitter, and an antenna thinner than a human hair - might be a way to crack the mystery of tear glucose and measure it with greater accuracy."

2. Camera that can record movement of light:

Camera can now even capture the movement of light. Yes at 4.4 trillion frames per second invented by researchers in Japan, has now set a record of world's fastest camera. The "Sequentially Timed All-optical Mapping Photography (STAMP)" is a camera so fast to record movement of light.

"High-speed photography is a powerful tool for studying fast dynamics in photochemistry, spintronics, phononics, fluidics and plasma physics," the researchers said

3. Invisible Cloaks:

Scientists at University of Cambridge developed a new method to manufacture invisible "Metamaterials" using lasers, that might lead to possibility of invisible cloaks. The thing is how they did it? Here is a short answer- Using an unfocused laser light to stitch particles of gold together, the researchers have created a material that reflected light through inverse refraction, making objects covered by it appear invisible by.

4. Printable, bendable Batteries:

Flexible batteries are the future of the new smartphone era. This battery above is long lasting battery which is rechargeable obviously is developed by a California based startup.  Imprint Energy overcame the current limitations of available batteries there by introducing a new era in wearable tech and medications.

"(ZincPoly) enables the production of ultrathin, flexible, high energy density rechargeable batteries for significantly lower cost and without the design limitations of safety concerns of other battery technologies," Imprint Energy said.

5. Solar-panel windows:

Since the accidental discovery of quantum dots The Scientists at Los Alamos National Laboratory found a way to synthesize a window that double as solar panel. Talking about Quantum dots, seems very futuristic but as much, are made of a semiconductor were embedded in a transparent polymer in order to capture the sun's energy and harvest it as power.

"The key accomplishment is the demonstration of large-area luminescent solar concentrators (LSCs) that use a new generation of specially engineered quantum dots," said Victor Klimov, lead researcher at the Centre of Advanced Solar Photophysics at Los Alamos.

So, these were some mindblowing technologies which we all have missed in this year. Comment below the views about what you think of these technologies.

Nokia N1 all You need to know

Just after Nokia's occupation by Microsoft, Nokia seems to be excited to jump again in the smartphone market again. Nokia about to release it's first tablet in the market i.e. Nokia N1, announced on November 2015 and  expected to release in upcoming year 2015. The best part that what I liked in it is given below in the description.

I am personally much excited about the Nokia, new tablet, as Nokia was my favorite phone manufacturer. The new device by Nokia looks a bit similar to the new iPads. Talking about the specs the beautiful device is packed in aluminium uni body having 7.9 inches of screen with 2048x1536 pixels having an aprrox. pixel density of 324. Which good enough for such a big screen. The screen is IPS LCD with 16M colors, protected by Gorilla Glass 3.

Coming to the processor and all, it has a 2.3 GHz Intel Atom Z3580 processor, which is the most uncommon thing and I liked it because generally smartphones or tablets have snapdragon processor with the. The device has 2 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage with no other external card support.

The two best things which I liked is, first one the camera i.e. 8 MP primary and 5 MP secondary which is the highest MP camera till date in a tablet usually they have just 5 MP camera. The second and the most interesting part is it comes with Android Lollipop 5.0 and Nokia's New "Z launcher" , new interface by Nokia  just scribble on the screen an alphabet and get the desired app in your tablet. I'll have given a video below originally by Nokia so that to see that how beautifully it works.

It will cost around INR15,300 ($250) only and I am pretty excited about it. I am thinking of buying one too.

Comment below what you think about this cool gadget.

Cicret Bracelet - Tablet on your Skin

I think 2015 will be a revolution in the Technology Industry, everyday new techs coming out and some of them are really freaky, which have blown my and many other peoples minds. Like I have been posting about about new smartphones in 2015 to change the way we think. Previously i updated about the LG's TVs which are about to show in CES 2015 and they are really step ahead the way we think about the TVs. These both two topics are right below in the blog archive, in case you want to have look at them.

Today I caught up with something new something really really futuristic. We all have seen computer screens with actually no physical screen in sci-fi movies and also wanted to own them. The thing which I brought here today is really fascinating it's Smartphone bracelet, I mean just wear a bracelet and it will function as your smartphone while really having almost all the functionalities of your smartphone.

Read: Printer in Your Pocket

Here simple looking bracelet is a powerful device. Having one pico-projector, 8 proximity sensors, battery, bluetooth module, Wi-fi component, processor, LED light, vibrator, Micro USB port, Memory card, ROM and almost everything that a smartphone has. How powerful this device is.

Now how does it works, simply  the picoprojector projects the interface on your arm and when we have to put our finger on it stops one of the 8 proximity sensors. The sensor sends the information back to the processor of the bracelet. Simple and innovative, just reused the concepts and techniques which we are using earlier in a smarter way.

Here's the video so, I need not to write much about it

Comment below what you think about the gadget. I found it pretty cool.
